Five Education are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to work in a Special School in West Bristol. This is a long-term, full-time role which could potentially become permanent for the right candidate.You may have to plan lessons and adapt them according to the needs of the students. You will be working with other staff members including SENCOs and Teaching Assistants.The students have a range of additional needs including challenging behaviour, trauma and ACES. To support these young people efficiently, you will need to be able to demonstrate a strong sense of empathy, care and resilience.Responsibilities and duties: Supporting students with their learning and development Planning and Preparation of resources and lessons Being flexible and using positive reinforcement to effectively support students in the classroom and possibly around the school Adapting lessons to meet the needs of the student Liaising with parents and caregivers including at parents' evenings Using de-escalation techniques to manage any challenging behaviourEssential Criteria: Be empathetic, kind and patient, with a passion to help others Hold QTS Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child/vulnerable adult-based references, covering the last 2 years A relevant DBS/Police checks Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes Able to work 8.00-4:00, 5 days per week, term time onlyWhat can Five Education offer you?
