The school is seeking to appoint a Special Needs Support Worker to join their dynamic team on a 1 year contract starting as soon as possible. Paid trial days will be arranged for successful candidates as early as next week - so please apply early to avoid disappointment. The School: This lively, happy and diverse school has a great reputation in the local community and SLT are highly supportive of all staff. You will be working within the school's Alternative Resource Provision, which provides care and support for Early Years students who are diagnosed with Special Needs. The Unit has excellent resources and a highly supportive team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants to offer support with your role on a daily basis. The Role: As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will be working alongside the Class Teacher and a team of EYFS practitioners to offer support to all students in the class. You will work with pupils aged between aged 2 - 5 years, and the role will be varied as you will work across different Nursery and Reception classes. You will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of lesson plans, setting up indoor and outdoor activities and supporting the students with their daily plans as required. You must be comfortable working on a 1-1 basis with children who sometimes present challenging behaviours as a result of diagnosed additional needs. You will also need to be comfortable offering support with feeding and other areas of personal care. Your working hours will be 8:30 - 3:50, and you will work during term time only. The ideal candidate will be EYFS Level 2 Qualified, but experienced Special Needs Support and Care Workers will also be considered without the qualification. The ideal Special Needs Support Worker will have: A clear, enhanced DBS check A positive "can do" attitude with good behaviour management skills Level 2 EYFS Qualification or equivalent on the job experience working with vulnerable children/adults A passion for supporting pupils to reach their full potential Information for 2 education references IF you are a Special Needs Support Worker looking for a new challenge in September, please apply today or send your CV directly to TimePlan
