Novant Health is seeking Sonographers to collaborate with radiologists to obtain high quality ultrasound images. Specialties include Vascular, Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neuro Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography, Vascular Technology, and Musculoskeletal Sonography.

Positions available for full time, part time and PRN.

  • Working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment
  • Capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms
  • Following routine standards, properly and safely manipulate equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images
  • Explain the procedure and any post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
  • Follow and support OSHA regulations and use universal precautions appropriately and when required

  • Education: High School or GED required. ARDMS or ARRT registry required.
  • Experience:
  • Vascular Sonographer - One year experience in Vascular Sonography.
  • Sonographer - On year of experience in Sonography.
  • Licensure/Certification: ARRT RT(S) or ARDMS certified or Board eligible required. RVT required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; effective communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Basic computer skills.
