SHES Training Lead Preston Murphy Group are recruiting for a SHES training lead to support the full range of SHES and Operational training activities on the Advance-plus contract in the North West. The successful candidate will ensure a robust training plan and schedule is in place, fully implemented and monitored as well as carry out SHES-Operational duties, aligned to the training function. The role is 45 hours per week and will be based from our offices in Preston and the surrounding area. What you will be doing Provide leadership and support to operational teams on the implementation of SHES guidance and best practice. Promote exceptional health and safety standards to direct and subcontracted work force. Promote a positive health and safety culture where employees are encouraged to report unsafe acts, behaviour and near misses. Ensure the development & delivery of high quality, innovative and engaging certified courses that meet all required aspects of the employees learning needs as well as meeting business budgets. Drive completion of mandatory training for all operational employees. Drive completion of company training for operational employees. Monitor with the SHES team; training requirement for renewals as AMP7 works continue. Ensure advance-plus core SHES standards and processes are embedded into the training plans wherever possible. Maintain accurate and timely training records and reports through strong alignment and engagement with the SHES Advisor. Maintain technical excellence levels for all SHES training material Examples of courses to include EUSR Water Hygiene, SHEA Water, Plant marshalling, Slinger Signaller, Safe digging, Risk Assessment Training, Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health Start the Conversation Sessions. To provide a monthly induction to all those working on the Advance Plus Contract. To include staff and site-based personnel along with supply chain. SHES-Operational role overseeing the issue of License to Operate (LTO) Passports. The LTO Passports are to be issued following a robust competency assessment of an individual who is required to work on behalf of Advance-plus. This will include such areas as service avoidance whereby this role will: Establish a centre of excellence/test centre for all new starters and those renewing their LTO. Carry out a competency assessment prior to issuing the LTO. (i.e. all those breaking ground on ADP (incl. direct and supply chain) to undergo the assessment and if pass, are issued with the breaking ground LTO) Assist with the on-going development and maintenance of the ADP H&S Strategic Plan in line with practices and contractual obligations. Who we re looking for NEBOSH Construction/General Cert. qualified Strong background in safety management and experience in a similar role Experience of the Utilities/Construction Industry. Ability to set SMART objectives and monitor the implementation of these objectives. Solid understanding of the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Significant experience in the design, delivery and sourcing of HSE training Must already have training certifications to deliver IOSH and CITB courses Excellent communication skills, with the interpersonal skills to interact and influence at all levels, be passionate about developing people and be driven to achieve success Must be fully proficient in all Microsoft office packages, Reliable, proactive and able to meet demanding deadlines Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise a number of tasks whilst dealing with day-to-day work requests About the Project A Strategic Working Alliance (SWA) between MWH Treatment and J. Murphy and Sons Limited has been created to deliver future works under AMP 7 for United Utilities as Advance Plus. Advance Plus has been awarded two geographical batches of work across the North and South West with a combined value in excess of £500million over a five-year period. Advance Plus has been collaboratively working to secure AMP 7 work since January 2019. The first contract award for two batches in the North were received in August 2019 with further awards expected thereafter. Advance Plus are currently in the process of developing an integrated project team, which will be based between the Warrington and Preston offices.
