OverviewPertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Energy Officer to join the team in the Aylesbury office (HP20 area). Working alongside the team you will play an important role in supporting on the identification, development and delivery of energy and water related projects within the service. This includes but is not limited to: energy and water efficiency, procurement and contract management work, consumption/generation and billing monitoring; renewable and alternative energy initiatives; process development; data analysis and reporting; and providing technical support. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and some external stakeholdersAbout the roleThe start of each day will normally involve reviewing emails, planning of tasks appointments and meetings. The work is varied, time will be filled working with the energy team and colleagues from across the Council to assisting with the management of the council's energy contracts and climate change commitments. Work will involve but will not be limited to such tasks as monitoring and reporting on energy, carbon, and financial performance, identifying potential opportunities for improvement through desktop data analysis/surveys or by on site audits, completing utility meter and supply point changes, project management of energy saving initiatives and renewable energy projects, completing feasibility studies for potential energy saving projects, including carbon savings and return on investment, contractor and partner relationship management.There is a regular team meeting held every week (Wednesday) that allow for work updates and news. 1:2:1's with your line manager will be held at least once weekly to provide support, review workloads, and set tasksFrom time to time on site energy investigations or audits need to be competed so we require someone with a driving licence who has access to a vehicle and has insurance covering business useThis is a temporary position until 28 October 2022, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £26.98 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 per week (part time working available if preferred).A normal working week is Monday to Friday. A standard working day for a full-time employee is 7 hours 24 minutes (7.40 hours) and a half working day is 3 hours 42 minutes (3.70 hours). Hours may be worked between 7:00am and 7:00pm, however core hours between 10:00am and 3:00pm must be covered unless absent or on annual leave. Currently the team are working 2 day a week at Walton Street offices, these days tend to be Wednesday and then ether Tuesday or Thursday. On the days in the office, you will have the opportunity to meet colleagues, work collaboratively and get to know the teamThe Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40About youWe are looking for someone with experience in energy management, project management, energy auditing and facility/property maintenanceMust have a full clean UK driving licenceMust be a good communicator and computer literateThe work of the team is varied and fast-paced so we are looking for an experienced and highly organisedindividual who can manage competing priorities and work independently and as part of a team.
