Part-time or full-time (32-40 hrs./week) initially limited to 2 years.

The:The IT Assistant:in will be primarily responsible for supporting and relieving the burden of installing and configuring IT infrastructure and operating IT activities at IRC offices in Germany. This position will provide 1st and selected 2nd level support to the IRC Country Program IT team and work closely with the Senior IT Officer and Germany Ops team to ensure proper functioning and support of ICT.

Your scope of work
  • First and second level support within the organization.
  • Contacting Internet Service Providers (ISP) when necessary and troubleshooting Internet services.
  • Ensuring that anti-virus programs and security patches on each computer are updated regularly.
  • You will work closely with the service desk and assist with the
    Setup and management of IT accounts.
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware and software systems using the Windows 10 operating system.
  • Review and maintenance of networks, peer-to-peer or client-server architectures.
  • Support for the implementation of an ERP platform (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Conduct training for user:s and support staff:s, including training on basic computer care and maintenance.

  • Work with our Operations team to maintain an inventory.
  • You will participate in the implementation of appropriate protocols for regular maintenance.

Your profile
  • Personal or professional experience in IT, computer science or other relevant field.
  • You have German and English skills at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
  • You bring 1-2 years of professional experience in comparable IT support.
  • CCNA and/or MCSE knowledge is an advantage.
  • You bring experience in the installation, configuration and administration of
    wired and wireless LANs and firewalls with.
  • You excel in communication skills.
  • You bring experience in the field of customer / client service.
  • Knowledge of computer imaging is an advantage.
