Purpose of the role: As a High Voltage Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in creating the specification and architecture of the vehicle and HV assemblies such as the traction battery and power distribution unit (PDU). Using your knowledge of current and upcoming legislation, technology, and best practices you will help ensure that our HV systems will satisfy demanding commercial applications for years to come. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Work with Chief Engineer and Control Systems & Electronics (CSE) Lead to refine HV architecture according to latest legislative, functional safety, cost and performance standards Specify component sizing for connections (wiring/bus bars), fixtures, contactors, etc 4 Create schematics in well-known software programs and control release of updates Write end of line pass/fail requirements and signoff procedures Keep up to date with HV legislation such as LV123, ECE100, FMVSS305, TP305, and ICE60664 Support control systems team in software development, testing, analysis and evaluation Professional Skills: Demonstrated expertise in HV system design Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently Strong understanding of HV component design & construction (Inverters, DC/DC, contactors, etc) Working knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) and associated parameters (SoC, SoH) Familiarity with HV battery safety concepts such as HVIL, MSDs, HV Isolation High standards for documentation and organization Personal Attributes: Hands-on experience either in professional or personal environments (Personal projects, factory floor, etc) Experience working in small, collaborative environments Ability to create and maintain their own momentum in workplace Evidence of lateral thinking in agile environments Good attitude and optimistic towards future Strong work ethic and genuine humility Qualifications: (Essential) Undergraduate degree in relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, etc) 5+ Years of relevant experience Strong knowledge of relevant subject (Desirable) Graduate degree in relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, etc) 5+ Years of relevant experience Expert knowledge of relevant subject
